Revision of the wide-angle Canon – EF-S 10-22mm F 3.5-4.5 USM |
Revision of the wide-angle Canon – EF-S 10-22mm F 3.5-4.5 USM Posted: 29 Jun 2011 01:00 PM PDT I just got my new Canon EF-S 10-22 including ultra-wide angle lens. This is one of the most popular Canon lenses and is designed for the "sensor crop" DSLR series. More about what is a sensor picked up later. My first thought after a couple of frames, "Wow, it's really wide, wrapped around my block." The question of the day is why I need a 10-22mm wide angle. I have an EF-S 18-55 zoom, the Canon came withX1i camera. So, what should I do with that width 8mm more to make a long shot. 8mm is like a football field, if I shoot a landscape in the distance (Well, maybe not quite a football field, but almost). It 'a great need for those of us who photographed landscapes for a wide-angle lens. As you can see in my landscapes, I tend to get very large images of mountains and red rocks in the foreground and the horizon in the shooting distance. I have most of my shotsLandscapes in with my 18mm lens kit on T1i. This means that I shoot 28.8 mm in 35 mm film format. This is because T1i is a sensor camera with a 1.6x crop factor. Now I have to explain things collection sensor. Suffice it to say that there are three sensors crop conditions in the range of Canon cameras, full-sensor, 1.3x, 1.6x and. This refers to the relationship between the sensor (the computer chip, which sees the image and translates it into digital). The entire sensor is the sameSize as the 35 mm camera in recent years. The other two reports, in fact, a subset of the entire sensor and 35 mm film format. For practical purposes this means that the sensor will complete the entire football field to see the 1.3x sensor inside the 20 yard lines would be seen and the 1.6 factor was recognized by 30 yard lines. Well, math majors out there for me not to keep the proportions correct, I'm just trying to illustrate the concept. Here is a list showing what CanonCameras, sensors: Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II and II (Full Frame) Well, what he wants to do with me, need, lust after a 10-22mm wide angle? Now you know that this lens will fit my camera (phew, that took a long time). They also know that the 10mm, the widest of wide angle is really a 16mm compared to my camera as it looks on a full frame camera. That is still very good and is really starting to understand view of red rocks, I like Sun What about the other properties of the lens? All the reviews I've read, show very high "glass". Quality Canon calls its top-of-the-line lenses with the letter "L" in the description. Although the> Do not carry EF-S 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 "L" is the use of three aspherical elements and an SD-element is a common feature of a high quality lens. My first shots with the lens I first has allowed the impression of how clear and crisp. This has the quality of optical parts and is not a "low-end consumer-the type of objective." Some experts have suggested that if there is an EF-S was the kind, could have obtained the name " L ", butas is the case on a pro-SLR (EOS 5D, 1Ds series) in shape, Canon does not have it "professional" L-label. In fact, no EF-S lenses in the designation "L" to this day. EF-S are, of course, only for use with APS-C designed (1.6) sensor Canon digital SLRs and is currently only physically Series Digital Rebel and EOS 20D mounted, 30D, 40D, 50D 7D . The EF-S design allows the rear element, then approaches the sensorEF lenses, which improve the image quality, especially at the minimum focal length. The "S" in EF-S means "short back focus" and now you know why. There are many technical reasons that this lens is good for wide angle shots and landscapes. Evaluations have shown that it is very strong and very fast when the auto focus. On the negative side, I'll do that if you have this lens, if you use a person close look as if they were standing in the circusShows the distorted mirror. And 'only for the recordings, which are designed as big as all outdoors. |
